- With Marianne we get an experienced, passionate, and solution-oriented leader who is able to drive and develop the secretariat and support meaningful collaboration between the academic and technical and administrative staff. Making a difference
Marianne’s management style is to see the individual person for who they are and what they can aspire to. And as a manager, Marianne Nyborg is first and foremost ‘Marianne’, which is ultimately what makes the difference:

- My goal is to help create the best version of the individual employee. That is where it all starts. Even though you are a part of a team, the individual still needs to thrive and be challenged professionally. It is important to create trust among the entire staff and, in that sense, improve the collaboration between the academic and technical and administrative staff and not least, across Aalborg University.
Marianne is not afraid to take on a challenge and learn on the go. This is very characteristic of Marianne’s work at AAU and especially the last year as Acting Head of Secretariat:
- You just have to go for it. We all make mistakes, and then we learn from them. That is what I like about working at PLAN. There is space for everyone to learn and develop. There is a trust that you can take on the challenges you are given says Marianne Nyborg, Head of Secretariat
In the fall of 2022 Marianne did just that when she and Head of Department, Anne Merrild Hansen, started the process of reorganising the Secretariat. The process began in the fall of 2022 and ended in the early spring of 2023.
Marianne lives in Islands Brygge in Copenhagen with her dog Castello, a stray from Crete. In her spare time, she goes on walks with Castello in Amager Fælled, reads, goes to concerts and the cinema with friends, and she travels to warmer climes.
