The vice-head of department, Birgitte Bak Jensen, and vice-dean for research and innovation, John K Pedersen, introduced the day inviting all to proactively engage in dialogue and future collaboration across the disciplines.
Researchers representing different fields of expertise met with the common vision to make the future transport sector and mobility smarter, greener and more energy efficient.
Several challenges and running projects were presented ranging from the development of more sustainable fuels and combustion engines, more sustainable batteries, electrical vehicles and infrastructure, traffic planning and infrastructure, to lightweight materials for vehicles and structures for transportation. The workshop included an inspiring plenum discussion and feedback on project ideas as well as an overview of some of the faculty's state of the art infrastructures, and an invitation to make even better use of test and lab facilities across the faculty.
Suggestions on interdisciplinary collaboration within the sustainability area included:
The next workshop will gather ENGINEERING researchers focused on health care and welfare applications. It will be held on September 9th in the new facilities of the Science and Innovation Hub. Keep an eye on the invitation and be prepared to sign up with a project idea.
