“50 years of Aalborg University”. This is the title of an art video that Aalborg University has received from the Ukrainian sand artist Kseniya Simonova on the occasion of the university's 50th anniversary.

Kseniya Simonova performed at the university's ceremonial celebration of the anniversary, which was held at Musikkens Hus in Aalborg on 19 April. 

Among others participated here H.M. Queen Mary, Minister for Higher Education and Science Christina Egelund (M) and representatives and partners from the business community and academia.

About Kseniya Simonova

Kseniya Simonova is a Ukrainian artist who masters sand animation, graphic design, illustration, film, and literature. She bears the title of Merited Artist of Ukraine and won Ukraine's Got Talent in 2009.

Since her childhood, Kseniya Simonova has developed as a painter and illustrator. She was educated at the School of Fine Arts in Yevpatoria and the School of Visual Arts. From 2003-2008, Kseniya Simonova studied graphic design at the Ukrainian Academy of Printing.

Kseniya Simonova is best known for her moving sand stories, including the story of a young couple separated by World War II – a subject close to her heart. This achievement launched her as an international name, and she has since performed in more than 70 countries.
